How will I know if my bike is set-up correctly?

If you have never taken an indoor cycling class before, please arrive at least 10 minutes early so your instructor can help you determine the proper settings for your bike and show you how to adjust it for future rides.

What is your cancellation and ||no-show|| policy?

If you are unable to make it to a class that you booked you may cancel up to 12 hours before the start of that class time. If you cancel 12 or more hours before the start of class, you will be able to redeem the class that you cancelled and use it at a later date and time. If you fail to cancel 12 or more hours before the start of class, or you don’t show up to a class that you booked, a class will be debited from your account and you will not get the opportunity to get that class back to use at another date and time.

For people with unlimited monthly memberships – if you do not cancel a class you booked 12 or more hours before the start of class, or if you do not show up to a class, you will be charged a $5 for every class you cancel late or miss after the first time it occurs.

How can I book a specific bike for the class I want to attend?

At Cycle 6 we use a metrics performance system called Spivi MetriX that allows you to book a bike when you sign up for a class. To register a specific bike for the class you would like to attend you must sign up for the class through the “Schedule” tab on our website (not the Mindbody App) OR you can create an account on Spivi and book your bike for that class through Spivi’s website.

If you do not get the chance to sign up for a specific bike ahead of time you also have the option of signing into a specific bike when you arrive to class. To do so you must go to our website, click on the “Schedule” tab, choose the class that you are about to participate in and Sign In to Spivi. Once you sign in the layout of Cycle 6 will be available for you to choose your bike.

If you take advantage of this feature you will receive an email after your class including all of your performance stats (i.e. average RPMs, Average Power, Calories, etc.).

Since some riders book their bike before class please understand that if you just book the class, without choosing a specific bike, you will have to give that bike to the individual that already booked the specific bike before the beginning of class.

Can someone I know use one of the classes on my account to take a class?

All of our class packages are non-transferable. We cannot apply one of your classes to someone else’s visit. If you would like to bring someone to class they will have to purchase our Single Class or Intro Offer to sign-up and participate in class.

Keep in mind that you will receive a $5 account credit for every person you refer to Cycle 6 for our referral program!

Are there introduction or beginner’s classes?

We currently do not offer introduction or beginner’s classes at Cycle 6. All indoor cycling classes can be taken at your own pace depending on your fitness level. The instructor will guide you through the class and let you know where you should be throughout the ride but you ultimately control your resistance and your ride. Our group exercise classes are intended for individuals at all different fitness levels. We do not offer introduction or beginner’s classes for our group exercise classes. If you are unable to do any particular movements in class your instructor will give you modifications accordingly.

Do your class packages apply to all of the classes offered at Cycle 6?

All of our class packages and memberships, including the Intro Offer, can be applied to any of the classes that we offer at Cycle 6. Our packages are not exclusive to one type of class!

For example, if you purchase a 5 class package you are not required to use all 5 passes for just spin classes.

Is there a place to put my personal belongings?

Yes – there are 9 lockers in the back room to be used on a first come first serve basis, and you need to provide your own lock. We also have cubbies in our gym where you can place your personal belongings during your class. Please note that Cycle 6 is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings that are stored in our lockers or cubbies.

What type of shoes should I wear to ride for indoor cycling classes?

There are cycling shoes that clip into the pedals of your bike. If you do not own cycling shoes you should wear comfortable sneakers that you would wear to do cardio or cross-training. If you are wearing sneakers, please make sure that the shoe laces are not excessively long, or make sure they can be tucked into the shoe.

How does your waitlist work?

If there is class that you want to attend but it’s completely full you can put your name on the waitlist for that class. You have the option to put yourself on a waitlist up to 2 hours before the start of class, at which time the waitlist is closed.

If/when a spot becomes available, the first person on the waitlist for that class is automatically added to the class. You will be notified of your waitlist status through email or via text message. If you receive a text message you have the option to text-to-reply to decline if you no longer wish to attend the class you were on the waitlist for. If you receive an email to notify you that you have been added to the class you are responsible for going into your account and taking yourself off the roster if you no longer wish to attend. The way you will be notified that you are no longer on a class waitlist depends on the profile settings you choose when you create your account.

 

What is the proper attire for an indoor cycling class?

Ideally you should wear shorts or fitted leggings/pants to avoid potentially getting your pant leg caught in the pedal. Make sure you are comfortable to move and sweat in what you choose to wear.

How many calories will I burn in one ride?

The amount of calories that you burn will vary based on weight, resistance, and power exerted throughout a ride. Typically, you will burn anywhere from 400-600 calories in a 45-minute ride.

We use Spivi to keep track of performance in specified classes. The classes that utilize Spivi are updated to your customer account after class; one of the measurements recorded are the calories you burned. Also, if you have a FitBit you can utilize the MindBody Connect app to give you an idea of how many calories you burned.

Will the classes offered at Cycle 6 help me lose weight?

The classes that we offer burn calories and build strength which lead to weight loss. Please remember that in order to lose weight proper nutrition is vital, and without eating properly it may take longer to see results.

How often should I attend class to see results?

Depending on the results you want to achieve, you should be attending a class 2-4 times a week.

How will I know if I have incorrect form?

Throughout class your instructor will remind you of proper form, through cues, that point out the body position you should be engaged in.

Is indoor cycling a safe workout if I suffer from body pains?

You should consult your Doctor before taking any of our classes if you suffer from any sort of body pain. If you are given approval to exercise, please inform your instructor of any sort of pain you experience so they can help you adjust your bike accordingly.

Why do I experience discomfort in the saddle during or after a ride?

If you are new to indoor cycling the foreign shape and texture of the saddle may cause discomfort during or after your ride. If you experience discomfort during a ride we encourage you stand up in the bike until you feel ready to sit back down. To avoid this discomfort, you may want to invest in a pair of padded cycling pants or simply allow your body to adjust to the bike – within a few classes you will no longer experience a discomfort during or after a ride.

Are there showers at Cycle 6?

There are no showers at Cycle 6 but there are two large bathrooms if you need space to get changed.

Why do I need an account, and how do I create one?

An account will be created for every customer when they sign-up at Cycle 6. Having an account will allow you to pay for class packages electronically, to reserve your spot in our classes, and to track your performance metrics for indoor cycling classes.

To create an account, go to the Login tab, and click create an account. Or you can choose a class package that will be best suited for your needs, and you will be prompted to create an account at that time.

What are the age requirements to participate in classes at Cycle 6?

Individuals ages 14 and up may participate in our classes. If you are between the ages of 14-18 you must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver that everyone is required to complete at the time they sign-up.

There are no age limits for participation in our classes.

Regardless of your age please make sure that you are physically able to participate in our classes, if necessary please consult with your Doctor before attending.

Do you offer daycare at Cycle 6?

We do not offer daycare at Cycle 6, but there is a Gymboree Play & Music located right next door to our facility. Some of our classes will be held during Gymboree’s drop-off hours, in which you can drop your child(ren) off at Gymboree and head up to our studio to take a class. Please note that Gymboree will charge you separately, but keep your eyes open for special deals!

What is your refund and return policy?

At this time we are unable to process refunds, however, we can complete account credits. If you started to use a service on your account and need a credit we can credit your account for the remaining/unused services on your account. If you have not started using the services that you would like returned, we can credit the full amount to your account. You can use your account credit for anything including classes, packages, gift cards, and merchandise.

 

Account credits cannot be redeemed for cash.

What happens if the class, or instructor, I booked gets cancelled?

Our schedule is subject to change at any time. If there is a class that you booked and it gets cancelled you will be notified via email of the class cancellation, up to an hour before the class starts, and the class will be added back to your account for you to use at a future date and time. If you booked a class and there is an instructor change the 12 hour cancellation policy still applies even if the instructor change occurs within our 12 hour cancellation window.

What is your weather cancellation policy?

We do occasionally close due to outdoor weather conditions. If you book a class and we close due to the weather you will get the class added back to your account. If we don’t cancel a class that you booked you will lose the class if you don’t show up regardless of the weather. If you are unsure about driving to class due to outdoor weather conditions we recommend that you cancel your class reservation outside of our 12 hour cancellation window. You can always chose to re-reserve your spot in the class if you determine that you are able to drive weather permitting.

Will I lose my seat if I show up late to class?

If the class is full, and there are people on standby to take the class, you could potentially lose your spot in a class that you reserved if you are more than 5 minutes late.
